ArdorNY.com has been a constantly evolving company since it's inception in February of 1995. They are currently poised to become the largest apartment rental company in New York city, with a sales force of over 120 agents operating out of two major locations in NYC.

Initially started as a conventional brick-and-mortar real-estate company, the founder knew well that the use of technology and the Internet could advance his company ahead of the herd. In 1999, company founder and president, Chris Shiamili, contacted us with an idea for having an online database of apartments. The initial concept allowed for his agents to post and edit apartments, while allowing his clientele (apartment hunters in the Manhattan area) so search for apartments that meet their needs. 

This need was met, and instantly ArdorNY.com had the "dynamic" website that set their business apart from other companies that had to update their website manually or didn't even bother to keep their website current with active apartment listings.  They also had an "agent database" used for security and tracking purposes.  Each apartment that was posted "belonged" to teh agent who posted it.  This implementation used what was still a relatively new technology at the time, Microsoft's ASP (Active Server page) technology.

Over the years, ArdorNY.com has maintained an ongoing business with TSD, requesting countless new modules and enhancements over the years.  Some of the highlights are illustrated below.  All interfaces are browser based (web pages) and are integrated into a unified portal for ArdorNY.com agents.

  • Addition of a "Client Registration" system that allowed client to register their apartment preferences with Ardor (their profile), and to facilitate their search by finding apartments that match their profile.
  • Generation of emails to clients of newly posted apartments that match their profile.
  • Move from having website hosted with an ISP to maintaining thier own servers on-site.  This opened up a whole new set of opportunities as we were able to install our own software and were not limited by what a webhost would allow.
  • Photo Upload module for agents to upload photos taken of apartments and assemble then into presentation for a given apartment.  This module included dynamic resizing of the image, as well as adding a watermark to prevent competitors from re-using the images.
  • This was followed up by adding support for agents to create and maintain Virtual Tours (also known as 3D tours) of apartments.
  • Expansion from just conducting Rental business into an entire new line of business : Apart Sales.
  • Other modules added include an Accounting Module, a Deal Tracking and Commissions module.
  • Various shared calendars for scheduling of events, openhouses, etc.
  • Many online web-based reports for decision support.
  • Appointment / Reminder system for agents.
  • Integration with external entities such as the New York Times, New York Post, Google Maps, and more.

Future development includes proposed additional modules for Investment Properties and Office Space.  If one thing is certain about ArdorNY.com, they will certainly never sit still.  Settling for the status-quo has never been part of the Ardor business model.
